We Come to You

Your garden, your home, your retreat venue. I travel to your chosen location — no studios, no strangers.

Everything Included

Every tool, every piece of silver, every consumable. A complete professional workshop, set up at your location.

3 Hours of Making

An unhurried afternoon. From raw silver bar to a polished, wearable sterling silver ring.

Up to 12 Guests

6 guests per session, with two sessions possible in a single day — up to 12 guests total across a morning and afternoon workshop.

G's Mobile Jewellery Workshop

A complete workshop,
brought to your door.

This isn't a jewellery class. It isn't a craft kit. It's a fully equipped mobile silversmithing workshop — packed into my car and delivered directly to wherever you've gathered your people.

Choose your garden, your kitchen table, your favourite retreat, your venue. I do the rest. All you need is your people and the occasion.

From the moment I arrive and set up the workshop, everything is taken care of. Every tool. Every piece of sterling silver. Every step guided with patience and care — Gaynor's hallmark — no experience required from anyone.

Three hours later, each guest leaves wearing a sterling silver ring they made entirely themselves. Sized, shaped, soldered, and polished. Real jewellery, made by real hands, in your own space. Each session takes up to 6 guests — and if your group is larger, two sessions can run in the same day, accommodating up to 12 guests altogether.

Fully Mobile · We Travel to You

Your space becomes
the workshop.

There's no studio to find, no unfamiliar address to navigate. I come to you — and that changes everything about how the day feels.

Your Home

The kitchen table, the dining room, the conservatory. I transform any surface into a working jewellery bench. You make the tea; I bring the silver.

Your Garden

When the sun is out, there's nothing better — tools on an outdoor table, dappled light through the trees, the whole workshop in the open air.

Under a Gazebo

If the weather turns, no problem at all. I bring a gazebo so the outdoor workshop carries on whatever the British summer decides to do. The show always goes on.

A Hired Venue

A barn, a studio, a beautiful hotel room, a village hall. If you've hired a space for your occasion, my workshop fits right in.

A Retreat Space

Running a wellness or creative retreat? My mobile workshop slots naturally into the programme — slow, grounding, and an activity guests talk about for years.

Somewhere Unexpected

Bell tents, shepherd huts, glamping sites — I've set up workshops in some beautiful unexpected places. If you have a gathering, I have a workshop.

"You choose the place. I bring the workshop. It's as simple as that."

The Making Process

From silver bar to
finished ring

Each step is guided and unhurried. No experience needed — only curiosity and open hands.

I

I Arrive & Set Up

I arrive at your chosen location and set up the full workshop — tools laid out, silver prepared, everything in order. You don't lift a finger.

II

Measure & Mark

Each guest is sized for their ring. The sterling silver strip is cut and marked — the moment the material becomes yours alone.

III

Shape the Band

Using a mandrel and mallet, you coax the silver into a circle. The resistance gives way, slowly, to the pressure of your hands.

IV

Solder & Anneal

The join is soldered with a gentle flame. Silver flows, seals, and cools — transformed from a strip into something whole.

V

File & Refine

Needle files smooth the surface. Slow, meditative, satisfying. The ring begins to reveal its character.

VI

Polish to Silver

The final polish. You hold it up to the light — and where there was a silver bar, there is now a ring. Yours.

How It Works

Effortless from your end.
Extraordinary at ours.

The whole point is that you do nothing but enjoy it. Everything else is my job.

The workshop is fully mobile. I load the car with every tool, every piece of silver, and every consumable — and drive to wherever you are. You simply open the door and show me where to set up.

Hen Parties

Far more memorable than a bottomless brunch. I come to your home or venue — the bride-to-be and every guest leaves wearing a ring they made themselves.

Birthday Celebrations

I travel to the birthday person's home or a venue of your choosing. An afternoon everyone will still be talking about years from now.

All ages welcome

None at all. The workshop is designed for complete beginners. Every step is explained clearly and guided in person — you'd be surprised how naturally it comes. Curiosity is the only requirement.
I arrive at your chosen location — home, garden, venue, retreat — and set up a complete professional jewellery workshop. All tools, materials, and consumables travel with me. You just need a stable table and enough space for your group to sit comfortably.
No problem at all. I bring a gazebo so the outdoor workshop carries on whatever the sky decides. Alternatively, moving indoors works just as beautifully — the tools don't mind where they are.
Each workshop takes up to 6 guests — this keeps everything intimate and ensures every person gets proper guidance. Smaller groups of 2, 3, or 4 work equally beautifully. If your group is larger, two separate sessions can run in the same day, accommodating up to 12 guests total across a morning and an afternoon workshop.
Allow around 3 to 3.5 hours. The pace is always unhurried — the goal is enjoyment, not efficiency. Some groups take longer; I'm flexible and follow the rhythm of the day.
The workshop price covers all tools, consumables, ring boxes, travel within the region, and my full time and guidance. The sterling silver itself is paid for separately by each guest, charged at the market rate on the day — typically £15–25 per ring, depending on the silver price. You only pay for the silver you actually use.
Yes. I run fully mobile silversmithing workshops for corporate groups and team offsites across the Cotswolds and beyond. I travel to your office or venue with a complete jewellery-making setup, and each team member leaves with a sterling silver ring they made by hand — a creative, screen-free activity that works well for team bonding.
I travel across the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire as standard. Travel further afield is possible for larger bookings — mention your location in your enquiry and I'll let you know.
All rings are made from solid 925 sterling silver — the same hallmark standard used by professional jewellers. Real, wearable jewellery. Not a kit, not a resin pour. A proper silver ring, made by hand.

A note on silver — each guest pays for the sterling silver used in their own ring, charged at the market rate on the day. This has typically been £15–25 per ring, though it varies with the silver price. You only ever pay for what you use.

Gayna — G, founder of Where's the Tom and G's Mobile Jewellery Workshop
Gaynor — silversmith, teacher, and founder of Where's the Tom.
Meet G

London born.
Cotswolds made.

Gaynor — known to friends and workshop guests as G — grew up in London before settling in the Cotswolds, trading east end streets for meadows, stone walls, and the slower rhythms she'd always been looking for.

She has been making jewellery for over ten years, and went on to study a BA in Jewellery and Objects at the prestigious School of Jewellery in Birmingham — deepening the craft she'd already spent years building by hand.

Her love of teaching came from an unexpected place: festivals. Setting up at outdoor events, Gaynor watched strangers discover they could make something real with their own hands — that was the spark. From those early festival workshops, my mobile jewellery workshop was born.

"Tom — short for Tomfoolery. Cockney rhyming slang for jewellery. A small nod to where I come from."

Now Gaynor brings that same energy — patient, generous, quietly brilliant — to gardens, kitchens, retreats, and venues across the Cotswolds and beyond. Every workshop is run personally. Every ring is made by the person wearing it.
